Peroxide makes hair greyWebAssets2/Health-and-Beauty-Gray-Hair.jpg

For the first time it was proved that grey hair contain too much peroxide and not enough enzymes, destroying peroxide, for example, catalase. High content of peroxide inhibits melanocytes, upsets pigment synthesis and decolorizes already existing pigment. Basically peroxide is formed inside hair in the course of reactions with free radicals. But it is not inconceivable that a hair-dye, containing peroxide, plays a definite role in the process of hair peroxide accumulation.

In case this supposition is correct then women at a mature age have to choose – or premature appearance of grey hair or refusal from a hair-dye, containing peroxide. It is well known that some plant extracts, for example seabuckthorn, contain enzymes, that destroy peroxide. These substances can be used for slowing down the appearance of grey hair.
